Welsh School of Architectural Glass | Reading Room | Swansea Metropolitan University | Alexandra Road | SA1 5DU

Over 80 artists from Wales and beyond have donated work to be auctioned in support of the Jane Phillips Award. With the Actress Helen Griffin as our Auctioneer for the day and hosted within the beautiful round Reading Room at Swansea Metropolitan University's Alexandra Road campus, this will be an unforgettable day and excellent opportunity to purchase work by established and emerging artists.

A prime example of Victorian architecture, the round reading room of the former Central Library in Alexandra Road is a grade two listed property. From the day it first opened in 1887, the Central Library, with its rich heritage as a seat of learning, has served as a beacon of educational and artistic enlightenment for the people of Swansea. In recent years, top TV programmes such as Dr Who and Sherlock have been filmed at the former Central Library site.

The spectacular grandeur of the building, its unique design, with original architectural facade and dome, will ensure that this will be a special day, within a truly amazing building.

The Jane Phillips Award gratefully acknowledges the support of Swansea Metropolitan University
